What is the replacement interval for idlers?

Idler rollers are typically designed for a service life of 20,000 hours or more; however, their actual service life is influenced by the operating environment, load magnitude, and maintenance practices.

How should the dimensions of idler rollers be selected?

Diameter: Determined based on conveyor belt width, material weight, and operating speed. The wider the belt, the heavier the load, and the faster the speed, the larger the required diameter. Length: Typically slightly more than half the conveyor belt width (e.g., for an 800 mm-wide belt, a roller length of 450 mm may be selected). Load Capacity: Selected according to material weight and conveyor design requirements, ensuring that the roller’s rated load capacity exceeds the actual load (e.g., if the material weighs 100 kg per meter, the roller’s load capacity must be ≥120 kg/m).

What components make up a roller?

Idlers typically consist of a cylindrical shell, shaft, bearings, sealing rings, bearing housings, and end covers. Some high-end idlers—such as bearingless plastic idlers—feature an engineering-plastic roller shell that is press-fitted onto the shaft, with plastic seal cartridges installed at both ends.

Do you have a pre-shipment inspection procedure?

Yes, we always test the product before delivery.

May I take a sample for testing?

Yes, samples can be sent for testing before placing a bulk order.

How should conveyor belts be maintained on a daily basis?

Regular Inspections: Conduct weekly checks for belt wear, cracks, and loose joints. Cleaning and Maintenance: Promptly remove any residual material from the belt surface to prevent corrosion or blockage. Lubrication of Rollers: Regularly lubricate roller bearings to reduce operating resistance. Adjust Tension: Dynamically adjust tension in response to load changes to avoid overloading or running under no load. Replacement Standards: Replace the belt when the cover layer wear exceeds one-third of its thickness or when longitudinal tears appear in the belt body.
